Kurudag Cave; In the Izmir – Selcuk district at Kurudağ this cave has developed from marble of the Mesozoic Age, is dry, horizontal, 42m long, 22m at its deepest part, has a ceiling height of between 3-5m and inner temperatures are generally much cooler than outside. The cave floor inclines northward, is covered with rock blocks and travertine formations, with stalactites, stalagmites, pillars and curtains and flags of travertine on the walls and used by humans as a shelter since
prehistoric times. Various excavation work has been carried out here and although is rich in natural and archaeological values it is not yet open to tourists.
